Cornell University hosts two exhibitions and public presentation, with images of climate scientists in the field, developments in renewable energy and double-image prints of dramatic changes in glaciers as feature photographs.

Gary Braasch visited Cornell University in Ithaca New York in October 2015, mounting two exhibitions, giving a public presentation to an audience of 500, and participating in seminars. Sixteen images of climate scientists in the field and some developments in renewable energy were on display in the Mann Library. Across the campus at the Nevin Welcome Center of the Cornell Plantations Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, four large double-image prints showed dramatic changes in glaciers. Three of these image sets are Braasch’s own images from the Cascades and the Alps, repeated after 21, 14 and 10 years, respectively.

Cornell and Ithaca are both leaders in advancing high-efficiency buildings and technologies, and low-impact healthy living. The campus has 17 LEED certified structures, including the Visitor Center and a LEED Platinum renovation of a 100 year old academic building. Ithaca is nationally known for neighborhoods that either intentionally or in re-planning become cooperative ecological communities, including the Ecovillage and the Aurora Pocket neighborhood.

This project would be impossible without scientists and observers around the world who have provided hundreds of scientific contacts and papers. See Background, Advisors, and Reference for documentation, funders and major advisors, without whom I could not complete the work.

World View of Global Warming is a project of the Blue Earth Alliance, Seattle Washington, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. The project is supported entirely by donations, grants, and license fees for the photographs. Please see information about how to contribute.
